Swapping Stories Projects
- Fourth grade students from K.W. Barrett Elementary School and seniors from Culpepper Senior Recreation Center have been exchanging stories since 2001. Arlington's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Resources, Office of Senior Adult Programs is Arlington Public School's partner in this continuing project.
- Arlington's May 2004 Brown vs. The Board of Education celebration featured two student story swappers who shared the experiences of two adults who attended Virginia's first integrated schools.
- Teenagers in the Urban Alternatives Foundation's Columbia Heights West Teen Photo Project swapped stories in December 2003.
- Children enrolled in two of Arlington's Department of Parks and Recreation's Summer Camps swapped stories with DPR seniors at the Arlington Mill Recreation Center and at the American Legion's Happy Hearts Club in the summer of 2003.
- Eighth Grade Students at Gunston Middle School and adults from the Gunston community exchanged stories in 2003 and 2004.
- Exchange students from Aachen Germany, Arlington's Sister City, swapped stories with Arlington students and adults in 2003 and 2004. This project was sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Division of Arlington's Department of Parks Recreation and Community Resources and the Arlington Sister Cities Association.
- Pre-service teacher educators enrolled at the University of Maryland exchanged stories in 2002.
- Female federal felons in a Washington D.C. halfway house swapped stories in 2002.
- Arlington's Department of Parks and Recreation sponsored projects with seniors meeting at the American Legion and a Community Center and students attending Summer Recreation Camps in 2003 and at the Carver Community Center in 2004.
Swapping Stories Workshops and Exhibits
- Workshop for the Kennedy Center's Professional Development Opportunities for Teachers
The Swapping Stories process is included as part of a workshop for teachers on integrating storytelling and classroom drama into their classroom.
- Workshop for International Global Partnership Summit Partners in Education
November 11, 2002 - Judy Thibault Klevins, Connie Pesachowitz, Senior Adult Programs Supervisor, and Elizabeth Fucella Burgos, Barrett Fourth Grade Teacher described the benefits of the program for students and seniors. Workshop participants also enjoyed their own story swapping session.

- Exhibit in The lobby of Richmond's Legislative Office (GAB)
January 29 & 30, 2002 - Judy Thibault Klevins, Swapping Stories Creator, presented an exhibit with video of the '01 project. Dr. Belle Wheelan, Virginia's Secretary of Education, and state legislators enjoyed learning about the educational and community benefits of Swapping Stories.
